<< Previous | 3.30.2006 | Dead Women Pass

Taken: Inca Trail, Peru @ March 8, 2006
Our second day of the Inca trail hike, the most difficult day. Our goal was to walk 10 km to the highest point of the hike, 4200 meters, to the peak in the middle of the picture, (our guide said it looked like a woman breast). The peak is called Dead Women Pass, because it supposed to look like a woman lying down. It was really hot and sunny walking up I had to convert my convertable long pants to my shorts. On the way down from the pass, it was so cold (and we were in the clouds!) we had to put on sweaters, jackets, hats, and gloves! It was an awesome experience.
